Bad Vibration, Part 2
Bad Vibration, Part 2
Greetings. My '72 Hurst has a wicked vibration starting at 58MPH. Tires have been ballanced three times (lug-centric), new tires, new rotors/drums, new bearings, front end aligned, drive shaft ballanced, new shocks, new ball joints and bushings. Any ideas?
you sure its not anything in the engine like a high rpm miss ? ignition? just throwing ideas out there. A buddy of mine had a similar issue turned out to be a loose flex plate / converter bolts
I had a bent axle at one point and it never vibrated . That would do it too though. Quick way to find out is try to take the axle out if it fights you and seems stuck it's bent. Those axles should come out very easy if it's the bolt in type.
I would try to get on a deserted road somewhere, get the car up to around 60mph, throw it in neutral and click the motor off. This would eliminate the motor and any possible torque input. Also you might be able to hear something you could'nt before.
