how to clean a dirty gas tank
I need a new gas tank but shipping to maui is a killer. The tank is really bad. I have to blow threw the gas line to loosen the crap up from the tank just to have it run for 20 miles or so. What's the best way to clean it. My uncle is tellin me to drop the tank, put a chain in it and rock it back and forth with a gallon or two of gas in it. Any other ideas?
X2 on the rad shop. They can leak test it too.
While you have it out, take a look for rusting or pin hole deterioration on the top. If there's nothing, you can also have the tank 'resealed' from inside.

Here's a cool article I found to sump a stock tank (Stang forum, but principle is the same): http://www.sn95mustangs.com/index.ph...Stock-Gas-Tank-
Sure they could, but why wouldn't you just do it yourself? Are you planning to plug the return line on the sending unit?
