OEM factory VS OER Aftermarket structural body parts comparison

Now don't get your panties in a wad that it's Ford, it's true for all brands.
Ford just blew the whistle on it and created some awareness, so take it FWIW.

Just something to keep in mind when you need body panels and are considering buying aftermarket parts.
I've noticed this many years ago with OER body panels that felt very weak.
I had door skins put on one door that I can buckle with light pressure, whereas my factory one doesn't budge.

So when shopping for body parts, often IMO it's better to find a boneyard with parts in great condition and reprep them.

I am not a bit surprised at this. Just as bad for new car owners as it is for old car owners, regardless of make. Not good, at any rate. Even many non-structural parts are flimsier than the originals. Radiators and heater cores are like this, too. I often weigh old parts vs new just to see the difference and I see too much!.
Here is why junkyard parts have more value to me than repros. If only the general public could understand this also......
