LOL Richard I think that guy's been trying to sell that engine for more than a year. Every time he reposts the ad it's a little different but just as indecipherable. I want to know how you put $4K into a motor and still use stock rocker arms.

By counting all the beers you drank while wrenching.

Well after you factor in the cost of "Craiglsist posting 101" at the local university, and a couple cases of PBR 4k sounds about right!

We're so quick to judge

C'mon, the guy's just trying to make some bucks. Sure it's a LOT of bucks from what I can see. So he doesn't compose sentences or spell well. Might be someone who has English as a 4th language? I know it's frustrating or even humorous to read ads like that, but the interesting thing to me (and the whole point of his CL ad) is that he got his message across - you all seem to know what he's selling and for what price, even how to contact him. Maybe he's 'negotiable' on his price. You always start high right?

Coltneckbob suggested he might call to find out more about this guy. Why not just do it to confirm your comment?

Not saying I like the CL ads style, but from the sounds of it, none of you actually know him. He could be a functional mechanic who just can't type or has dyslexia (that would be a slap wouldn't it?) Before you all say he should have someone proof read the ad - which I agree would be great - keep in mind that he has his pride too. BTW, he spelled Oldsmobile 455 motor correctly, and that's why he got the hit on the ad in the first place. Round 1 to him.

How would you react if he was a member of C.O. who had trouble putting posts together? I'm not one of those great human rights crusaders, but I don't think anyone here has really given the guy a fair shake. And before any of you point it out, no, I'm not perfect or even close myself. Ok now you can jump all over me and tell me how I'm wrong or to butt out. Just thought a reality check was in order.

my head hurts after reading that xD also seems rather expensive for an engine you can't even hear run before you buy it..

Doubt the engine is good! Probably thrown together and on paper is makes 500 horse but in real life, barely 200

If he ordered parts for that engine with that kind of language, I bet he has a true Johnny Cash "one piece at a time" build made up of who knows what....
