Expanding my horizons, added a 1954 Olds 88 project car to my list

Well... I've tried to keep my focus between 1964 and 72 as they share many parts in common. I did have some mid to late 1970's projects but sold/traded them a few years ago. Then a buddy tells me about this 1954 Olds 88 for sale. The owner was moving to the Southeast and decided to not take this with him. The tags expired in 1963 and it sat in a barn for over 20 years, then a garage for another 10 that he knew of. The previous owner pulled the engine, some of the chrome and dash and most of the pieces are with it. Then life changed and he didn't get back to it. When I looked at it the optimist came out in me and I thought about Pat and Dave's 1957's with 455 engines. I can see this car with a nice paint job, re-done interior, and 455/TH400 drivetrain. But that may have to wait until I retire which is still many years away For now, here's some pictures of the latest addition to my daydreaming list!

You have a serious addiction John, now that being said. I will send you my drawings of the 455 install. I know you have a few tucked away in the garage. Looks like fun. I believe Richards favorite is the 54 so he'll like this one as well

I used to like you but not any more. That is the exact car I want to build as my next long term project keeper car.

Yes I know I'm a sick, sick man. But I'm having fun so I'll continue to do so until something changes and I have to downsize the collection!

Thank you Pat, I would appreciate that!

Richard, I do like the body lines on this car. My buddy was surprised that Olds was a year ahead of the Chebby's with the body line under the rear window and the chrome flip up strip at the top of the hard top door glass. I would expect you can find a nice example of a 1954 down in Texas. But when your ready to look for one let me know. If I've not gotten to it yet I can think of nothing better than handing it off to another Olds guy who would appreciate it and put it back on the road again. I could even include a 455 if needed John
