trying to identify the rear in my 68 442. It is not original and I think it's a GTO rear. Housing number is 9795084, It is a 10 bolt with W27 cover on it. Gear ratio is 3.55:1, bolt on axles... no c clips, posi, but very weak, need to find posi clutch rebuild kit, # on ring gear 39- 11 GM968 LD. I believe it is 8.0 or 8.2 useing tape measure while carrier still in car. Mail goal is to rebuild posi.

You would be better off finding an "O" type rear that has a 12 bolt cover w/ a 10 bolt ring gear. They came in late '67 442's and '68, '69 & 70 442's.
