Trade, Sell or keep?

I wanted to know you all's thoughts on me Keeping, selling or trading my Old Dynamic 88. The car is a dream to drive [rebuilt engine & trans, engine has less than 60k mile and had 36k orig miles before the rebuild], no leaks, no trans issues and would take about 1500 to finish; is still is all orig. Thus, Now that i have a a family, and have a family vehicle, I've been considering selling or trading for something else. the cars is a 4 door so that family easily fits ( i even put seat belts iin the rear for the car seats) But resoning was to aquire a newer olds or somthing from the 70s-80's era. Also, i perfer to drive my classic cars hard...so when i do have the family in the 1965 Olds the lack of power window. locks, etc. [not to mention the 4 barrel 750 carb] are taxing and pricy ANyway let me know your thoughts

Being a dynamic owner NO NO NO. I have been in the same situation in some ways as you. The car is unique and it is bringing you pleasure and the war department (your wife)isn't demanding you part with it. The family enjoys it for the simple reason it is unique and you enjoy it. Getting rid of it to buy another car for more comfort is a bad reason. Put it aside and have as an emergency form of transportation and get the other "needed " car. There are ways to make the ole gal a bit more muscle like. I added dual exhaust and gave it a little growl..just enough to give it a little muscle but not seem like dads oldsmobile. Good luck with your choice....but again a big NO VOTE!! Let's get on this guy and tell him to hold onto the ole dynamic 88

You'll regret selling it.
You'll convince yourself you'll get another one later, but, it'll probably never happen.
Besides, what better family car than a full size antique 4-door "88".

Thumbs up

DEFINITELY hang onto it!! You KNOW this car's history, quirks and flaws...you'll enjoy getting those fixed -- buy something else and you'll soon kick yourself for getting rid of an already SOLID car that you enjoyed as it was..."ANYONE can drive a new/newer car; it's something special to drive a classic!" (as my neighbor always says! : >)

Keep it.

Don't sell it.

It's already an ideal family car.

I'll tell you a story:
In 1963, my father traded in his silver 1958 Porsche Speedster for a brand new '63 Chevy II wagon with a 250 6 because my playpen wouldn't fit in the back.

'Nuff said.

I think i catch the theme here. My family want to kill me for even thinking of selling or trading the car [though they've put zero into it] Never the less i think I will have to agree with my gut and you guys... i know the car inside and out, its easy to work on, parts or fixable and how man people, no a days, can say that each and every part of thier car was made in America; I hold on to it.

Bravo! I think you need to go spend some time with your Dynamic 88 and say you are sorry for even thinking of dumping her. Give the ole gal a tank full of high octane and a quick spin....she may forgive you!!!
