You can get a stock replacement water pump from Fusicks. I'm sure it would be as "original" as possible. I'm not sure how you would rebuild a water pump yourself. I guess you would have to disassemble it and replace the bushings/bearings.

http://www.supercarsunlimited.com/ Try these guys for matching pumps with the same casting number if that is what you want. You could get kits a looong time ago but only the rebuilders have them now

I've sent a half dozen original casting GM water pumps to the following business and they've never done me wrong. The cost for rebuilding is around $70, and I seem to recall that included shipping for me. Here is their address:

Automotive Friction Co. Inc.
20521 SE Hwy 212
Damascus, OR 97089
phone: 503-855-3670 or 800-545-9088
fax: 503-855-3672

I live fairly close to this vendor and I've sent pumps out UPS on Monday and had them back on Thursday of the same week.

Hope this helps.

The nice lady at Friction Auto said to send it out and they can do it. I like people with confidence for a job. On its way to Oregon. Open face alternator being done locally so car will have all original parts except for the correct carb Thanks Randy

I sent my original 69 pump to Arthur Gould rebuilders, located in NY. I don't have the address handy right now, but for 75 plus shipping, I was very happy. I think it was a 7-8 day turn around, and I would recommend them to anyone.

thanks

My pleasure, John! That lady's name was probably Lisa. She gives a very positive business impression on the phone and I have been quite impressed with the work they do at Automotive Friction. Best Regards, Randy C.
