I’m installing new Edlebrock heads on my 350. I would like use the old valve covers but the baffles will not clear the rocker studs. If I go with taller valve covers I understand that my accessory brackets will not fit. Can anyone provide experience with removing the baffle or other options?

similar circumstances, I went with a set like the dick miller stock looking covers that are a little higher ( 3/8ths of an inch, but I am NOT running a/c this is the bracket your worried about right? I was told these would fit a/c, but I was also told santa is a jolly old elf.... I didn't get the dick miller ones i got them from some place in Kali-forni-A about half the price look the same..

the baffles are just spot welded in and "should" come out fairly easy, but you know how that goes LOL...

if you remove the baffle associated with the pcv valve it will probably start sucking oil.

My engine builder removed the baffles in my valve covers to clear the rockers. He saved the portions that cover the PCV holes in each valve cover and welded them back in. They line up between rockers and should keep oil from easily sucking through the PCV system. He left some air gaps around the trimmed baffles to allow ventilation.

Get a hold of some 64-66 330 or 425 valve covers. They don't have baffles in them.
