Oldsmobile Powered Nationals 2010, Race and Show
July 18, 2010. Summit Motorsports Park, Norwalk, Ohio.

Dead and buried by GM?
Never have the dead moved so quick and fast!
Five decades of ritualistic brutal horsepower was what GM decided to ignore when they stopped building Oldsmobiles. The dedicated masses that gather for this event not only remember that power, but take it to levels never imagined by the manufacturers. Pulling the front wheels of a two-ton behemoth off the ground on launch takes some thunderous power, but that’s exactly what these racers do every day. Present day performance that has its roots in the birth of hot rodding.

Check these classic cars out, but be careful, it just might turn you into an Oldsmobile fan!
Dash plaques I would think?

http://www.northernohiooldsclub.com/Calendar.htm
Check out the new show at the IX Center coming up in November too.
I just may have to join that chapter.

Will they have dash plaques though?

Thanks for the info!! I already plan on being at the CVCC on 6/13 - I believe Don Sitts is sponsoring that one? I read that somewhere.... That man is going to owe me a trophy for all the money I pay him! LOL!! Usually his trophy is a framed pic of the car.... Parma?? I dunno about that one. Norwalk, nope... Alliance yep!!! Hope to have both cars there this year... Double dash plaques!! LOL!! Looks like there are a lot of shows out your way...

The Prettiest One will be showing off her beautiful painted engine and new parts..... she'll be stylin and profilin!!! Trophy material for sure this year!!!! God I can't wait to be outside polishing her!

Do you have your entry yet for the Solon Charity show??

(Oops... scratch the Don Sitts part.... that's another one I was thinking about!)

I think you're pushing it!!

The way things are going around here, there will still be 10 inches of snow on the ground in early May.

I'm just extrapolating the rate of snow accumulation vs rate of snow melt. By my calculations, the last of the snow will disappear at 4:17 a.m. on Thursday, July 29. Of course, the first snowfall of the 2010-2011 winter will occur the next day!

I try to get to the Carnation Mall show every year. I've been there many years since 1995 and it just keeps getting bigger and better.

Put him on your list.

The Rocketfest is for '49-'59, leaves a few of us out.

The BOP show is always the nicest day of the year it seems, knock on wood.
That dustoff is pretty lame, nobody would talk to me except one other guy that works on his own cars.
My birfday is in the begining of May, I only remember one time that there was a foot of snow.
The Norwalk thing is great if you race, lots of ROP guys.
I went once and there were about 10-20 cars in the show and a few guys selling parts.
Solon Charity cruise?
I'm sick of all these charity cruises, is my gas and car and showing up not charitable enough? Charge the spectators, the ox roast makes a lot money and the talent don't pay for nothin'.

Have a wet t-shirt contest and get the NOS or Hawaiian tropic girls and I'll pay at any show.
The tuner meets always do, and they don't sit in lawnchairs all day and preceed every sentence with "Remember when?".
It's right now man.

Tuners are those Jap traps with carbon fiber hoods and a ton of bolt on catalog stuff, love nitrous, also goes for leetle American fwd stuff.
They can be very fast, but they're so small you look like your playing with yourself driving one.

I hope the Vista is done before that show, that's what I'm shooting for, for 4 years every year.
Been working on it like crazy lately, thought it was ready.
Any day now and off to the body shop for paint. I hope I don't get nailed driving it to Parkman with no lights or bumpers. The highway patrol is always sitting on the causeway over LaDue reservoir, they don't do F.O.P. cards. They may check for illegal "crops" in the back on the way back from Parkman, Ashtabula is a major farming area too. I think the Amish out there grow the wildwood flower.
I already used my F.O.P. card last summer when the fuzz nailed me speeding in my goat, they keep the cards.
I'll have to get another, or two.

I can get into Solon for nothing on charity night, I know the treasurer of the R&R Street Machines.
I'll go, get my bro' and a few other guys to make it fun, the girls can drive home and the bar is right there at the Italian joint.

I can put in a good word at Solon and lead them to your car?
Have a ton of those plaques.

Well, yeah!!! Gotta show off your beautiful engine paintin job!!!!!! Don sitts is a sponser at a lot of those Solon shows too, and believe me, when I take the car to him in the spring, I will be telling him to tell those judges to open their eyes or I'm not giving him any more of my business!!

Maybe you can hide the vista in the middle of a convoy of horse and buggies on the way to Parkman! LOL!

That means convertible (open) or hardtop/sedan (closed) with our type cars doesn't it? I never thought about it, I just go, ignoramus.
I'll e-mail and ask the big Olds club cheese, have to find out what class I'm in anyway.
I think I may be in the 1971-1985 full size class like the BOP show but not sure.
Land yachts surrounding my poor blue baby like Jabba the Hutt-like whales again.

It is convertible or non-convertible Sandy, I just bearmembered my GTO is an open.
I got ahold of the big cheese and my car is in class 4, full size exceot Toronado.
My cabin cruiser can run rings around those yachts.
Remebber that it's popular choice for the first time this year, whoever's the most popular wins, the car means nothing.
Club people tend to vote for club people, may need to join the Olds club and get popular with the boys Sandy.

I was hoping to be in in class 9.... Chebby striped Cutlasses.
Do you think they would notice it's a wagon if I tried?

I have some extra pieces, how about woodgrain chebby stripes?
I still want to get a wagon and have a full woodgrain wrap done, bumpers and everything, the stuff like they use on busses so you can see out the windows.

Have you figured out if your in the open or closed class yet Sandy?
