Not sure of your question, but the photo you posted is an aftermarket underdash gauge package. Nothing like that was ever factory offered.

That pic was to give an idea of what I was talking about.... are you sure 68 didnt have that option because my car came with 1 and its a perfect match to my dash.... It s mounted right under the ashtray.... Could it have been a dealer add on, If I wasnt so far from my car I would post a pic of mines....

Never question Mr Padavano when it comes to Oldsmolbiles... That is of course, unless you are VERY sure of your argument.

When you say it matches the dash, do you mean it has the same woodgrain as what is on your dash? If so, it is probably just an aftermarket, sticky type woodgrain added after the fact.
Just my opinion. And I was thinking of saying this before I read Joe's post.

Im not trying to insult yur Olds knowledge at all, I know what I have looks factory but cant find any info on it so I was asking!!!!!!!! I'll take the 2 hour trip and get the darn thing so I can post pics then maybe that will help to indentify it!!!!
No insult taken, but you can't find any info because it is not a factory part. There were hundreds of different aftermarket gauge sets manufactured in the 1960s-1990s. Someone may have taken care to find one that looked like a match, but is still isn't a factory part. I don't know how to make it any more clear. You apparently don't like that answer, so feel free to keep asking.

I totally understand its not a factory part!!!!
I wanted to know if it was worth me having repaired, but since its not a factory item I plan on just replacing the gauges with the auto meter to match my tach.... the owner before me took the dummy gauge cut the back out and added an auto meter tach, hopefully I be able to find some that match ........
But I'll still get the pics as they my help another newcomer wondering the samething!!!!

Thanks
Oh and I dont know much but I do know most of the guys on the board have probly forgotten more than half of what I'll ever know!!!!

That will certainly help. With a few exceptions, these aftermarket gauge sets were cheap when new and aren't worth much now. Some exceptions are vintage Sun and Stewart Warner gauges, which are highly sought after.
would it be something like this? offered by a forum member

That pic was some guy driving by that I stopped.
That's my car, it's a blue Vista.

Maybe Wyze will sell you that fine set for your car Sandy?
Gauges installation is a piece of cake, if you want them hooked up it's a whole 'nother story.

Oh a wise guy hah!!!!!!
I'm not even gone tell you what you can go do!!!!!!

Thanks for the info, so I'd e fine just swaping these out with new better ones!!!
That's what it's gonna be, gotta see if I can find some Autometer gauges to fit, I really appreciate the help from everyone, I sure I'll have more questions very soon as it's getting closer to spring and I'll be turning some wrenches real soon....

And Joe as I look at these things I guess they do look pretty cheap!!!
