Paint swabs on disc brake spindles.

Anyone know the rhyme or reason for paint swabs on disc brake spindles.? My 70 442 project car came with manual drum brakes and they have to go. Not a fan. I located a nice disc brake set up and I was cleaning the spindles and the left side has obvious green swabs and the didn’t care how much they used. The left matches what I have seen on Buicks and other Olds I have seen, the funny thing is the right side had small amounts of red paint mostly hidden under dirt. No green at all on the right side. I will replace as I found them, any thoughts?

Identification, what shift, inspection mark, vender supplier, the paint could mean lots of things. Rest assured , those paint marks meant something to someone.
