Passenger side rear window w/manual crank

I have owned my 72 Cutlass Supreme for 4-1/2 years. In that time, I have not been able to roll down the passenger side rear window. I've done some research on how to remove/repair it, but it seems like it would be more work than I may be willing to do. I'm not comfortable removing trim panels, and I had an issue removing my bottom rear seat cushion last summer to get to the seat belts that were pushed back behind the seat by the previous owner. Is this type of repair difficult, or should I consider finding someone local who is knowledgeable about classic cars that could repair it? Does anyone know of any You Tube videos specifically about repair of GM A body rear seat manual crank windows?

It's not that bad Take the seat out and the handles off and remove the side panel, and you will be able to see the window tract,

I agree with Mr Harv. If you got the seat bottom up to get the belts out then you’re a good part of the way there I think the side panel and most of the interior stuff is pretty easy to remove - if you remove the rear seat , window crank handle and some obvious screws the side panels will come off. It’s pretty intuitive. Then you can look inside and find the malfunctioning part to get going on the repair.

opgi has a quarter window install video that will show you some helpful tips regarding the mechanism you are troubleshooting. It’s based on a 71 442.

Good luck

Thanks. I have time to research this. The car is in winter storage for at least 6 to 7 more weeks due to it being the middle of winter here in northeast Ohio. 😢 I'm not able to do any work on it in the winter because I have to keep it in a storage unit because I don't have room for it at home.
