Dump your Carlisle shots here…

I didn’t take a lot of pics but thought I’d make a photo thread.

This is great. Thanks for posting the Carlisle photos. It's good to see that there was excellent weather for the event.
Here's some Carlisle photos from 1987 that I posted last week. Compare some of those prices.

Those pictures are great!
And then only thing better than the lower prices are the absence of mobility scooters towing wagon trains of parts.

Yes I agree. I know there are people who need the mobility scooters. But...Carlisle needs to do something about the "excess" scooters and also golf carts/ATVs and people driving their vehicles thru the crowd. It is getting to the point one has to watch where they are walking for fear of getting hit by a "drive by". Full size vehicles should be restricted (and enforced) during show hours. Vendors should be setup before 7am. Same with the Car Corral. End of rant.

Nope. No apologies necessary Farmer. It’s gotten out of control.
i’m all for an older guy who needs it having a way to get around. But more than half of the people riding around on them could walk just fine.

Scooter traffic was heavy this year. I did see a group of 4-5 drunks playing bumper cars with the scooters. They were having a time.

Allegedly there is a prohibition on wheeled or motorized vehicles (which includes bicycles) from 9am-3pm. I have yet to see that enforced. Our spaces are near an intersection and we always see close calls there between one of these yahoos and a Carlisle Events golf cart. It's going to take an injury before this gets enforced. Of course, I frequently see a family on a gaggle of scooters clogging the aisles, and invariably they will get up and walk through someone's swap space (leaving the scooters in the middle of the road). Yeah, I understand that the hobby is aging and some people do require these, but the majority do not appear to.

These photographs are beautiful quality. They look incredibly modern despite the era.

I'm seriously considering stopping at Carlisle on my way home from Florida this Fall. There's a Fall Carlisle swap meet as well, correct? I've never been and I would imagine that this will be the last opportunity to visit the USA for me in my lifetime. My father and I will be heading down to Florida to finalize a real estate sale and to bring his vehicle back home with Carlisle not being too far out of the way on the trip back. I'm sure he'd enjoy the visit as he's such a car guy and with me restoring his Toronado I'm sure this would be a great experience for us both.

The fall show is definitely a little bit smaller. But it’s still a worthwhile stop if you’re going to be traveling through the area.

Abuse of scooters is an issue that I heard many comment on when I attended Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Another is people using car carrel spots for premium parking. We saw lots of pick-ups and SUVs that are obviously not intended to be for sale parked there. I inquired to one owner about the price of his pick-up and he rudely brushed me off.

Thank you to everybody for your comments regarding the photos. It's my pleasure to share them. It's also a great pleasure to see the photos that others have posted.

There is also a Fall Carlisle event which is similar to the spring event. Also, you may want to check into the AACA Hershey event, which is held the week following the Fall Carlisle event.

Hershey, Pennsylvania is about 40 miles east of Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Combining the two events makes for a great two week "vacation" in late September and early October. I will gather some of my old photos of the Hershey meet and post them in a separate thread.

I did not make it this year, so thanks for sharing all the pics!

Carlisle Events post their own, see 9 pages of photos!
