What are people using on their exhaust manifolds for cars that being shown at shows like MCACN? I have a frame off restored car that was done several years ago and the manifolds are starting to show some rust. Jet Hot, Eastwood?? Thanks for your input!

I had mine coated by Jet Hot.

 

I like the POR exhaust manifold paint.

 

I am not a POR fan but I have to say that I am very pleased with the POR exhaust manifold paint. It lasts really well. I brush it on and let dry and then do a second coat.

 

I had Jet Hot coat mine 16 years ago and they still look perfect.

 

Were the OE exhaust manifolds painted?

 

I had my Thornton manifolds ceramic coated.
still look new after 5 yrs. No rust.
very happy.

 

They were not supposed to be painted.
They usually got a little overspray near the heads.
The engines were assembled and then painted.
By the time the cars got to the dealership, the manifolds were sometimes starting to rust.

 

Can you tell the average cost and turn around by chance for the Jet Hot? Thanks

 

Cerakote finish on a 1000 point car. Turned out really nice. It's the same finish used on fire arms.

I have also done manifolds with Slip Plate graphite spray. The Mopar guys have been doing it for quite some time.
