Oldsmobile at the 2024 MCACN'S
Same could be argued about the Vans or full-size cars with big blocks. Some of the cars (and trucks) on display were super nice period vehicles. Last year, or year before, they had an entire section of wagons. They always have certain themes that they group stuff together in. If you've never been I highly recommend going at least once.
I guess the same way a Toronado is considered a muscle car. I don't know where the real definition of a muscle car is but I don't think it includes wagons. I am pretty sure that is Bryan Lacy's car and it is as nice as one could be. Their show, their rules.
I went to this show on Saturday. Wow! I've gone at least 10 years and am always amazed. The Daytona Charger (black) is one of my friends cars. Hemi 4 speed. Very nice.
My favorite grouping were the Buicks. They had a bunch of Stage 1 verts. Just an awesome show.
When I was a young man we all had cars of course. Most were small block A-bodies. But, one friend had a 68 Vista. It had a 400/400 combo w/ a 12 bolt. It was more than likely the fastest car in the group but we made fun of it and didn't even consider its' potential. The lightweight 421 Pontiac wagon is where I'm going with this.

Awesome pictures. Been watching the U-tube vids and that W43 is spectacular. Inquiring minds want to know, does it run and has it been dynoed?
That Hurst GP 'vert blows my mind, as does the "barn find" Hurst GP. I've seen lots of the latter, never the former until now. Also, that 421 Tempest wagon is something else too. Was that one equipped w/ the transaxle (and "rope" driveshaft)?
Thanks for sharing!

the original restored car was a race car, it was restored back to original, then they built a replica car as the race car. They were displaying them side by side. It was a fantastic show
I was standing in front of the 5 mile GNX looking at the pic of it covered in dust and made a crack about how could you let it get that way. An older guy asked if I had any questions and I turned around and saw his name tag, Richard Clark! We ended up talking for almost 10 minutes about his cars, my old GN, his old Speaker Works GN and his fastest in the country 6sec GN. Super nice guy and what a treat.
One year my friend showed 2 of 4 of the W-30 4 Speed Verts he owned.
Another year was the Hurst Invitational.
Doc Watson and Linda Vaughn.

So Andy, the original Paul Mayo car was Paul's actual car, and the lettered car was not Paul's car? The lettered car was identical to Paul's race car. I saw Paul's car new and at the track lettered. WOW.
Also, as many cars as you see in these pics, this is just a fraction of the cars actually there. It truly is unbelievable how many cars are at this show. And each one seems to have a unique story. They even had an entire section that were High School cars, cars guys had in high school that they still owned today.
