70 88 vs 70 98 - these parts the same?

Hello,
Would anyone know if the front seat, fenders and hood are the same size between a 1970 delta 88 and a 1970 98? I'm not having any luck finding any information. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks,
Sean

From the cowl forward 88/98 are identical except for grilles. Ninety Eight upholstery is different fabric and stitching. Depending on bodystyle a Ninety Eight front seat structure may or may not be same as an 88.

The hood might have chrome trim in a different spot than the 98. I got a new nose cone for my 71 98 from 2blu442. It was off of a 71 Delta 88. Apparently, the Delta 88 had a chrome strip down the middle of the hood because there were two holes in the top of the nose cone for chrome trim. It wasn't a problem that couldn't be fixed easily though.

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to figure out if a front seat and hood from a 1970 98 will bolt on to a 1970 88. The front bench seat has been especially hard to find. The current bench seat springs are shot, moving parts are rusted badly and frozen in place.
The 98 is a hardtop and my 88 is a convertible. Sounds like you guys have been in my shoes.

The hood will bolt right on and should align easily. Get all the shims, bolts and hinges from the donor car if possible.

Some Ninety Eights had a tall seat back but that was usually in Luxury Sedan models.

Here's a little known secret. The front bench seats from any 1965-70 2-door full-size GM B-body car will work in your Delta convertible- Impala/Caprice, Catalina/Bonneville, LeSabre/Wildcat. You'll just have to upholster it for an Olds. You could possibly even latch onto a Strato-Bench seat which had bench cushion and bucket backrests with center armrest, and are very comfortable.

Hope that makes your search a little easier.

jugdish, the Strato-Bench was common in Toronado's and Caddys of the 1960's. If your not trying to go back to original appearance I agree with rocketrader that those are nice seats. They are often power seats too.

rocketrader, I've pulled the seat backs off a couple of those thinking I could use them as parts for bucket seats. Have you heard of anyone converting them to buckets? I can see at least a couple places where the brackets are different at the mounting points with the seat bottom but have not had the time to pull one apart to see what all would need to be changed.
