Remember these?

Back when I first bought my '72 Supreme, I started a thread about the placement of these braces and whether or not they were correct. I was informed that they, in fact, were not. So I removed them and held onto them just in case.

Fast forward almost 5 years, and a random text from my buddy asked me if my car had the braces that go from the frame to the center of the front bumper above the license plate. Hmmm...could it be? After a quick measurement and a bit of research, it turns out that holding on to them paid off!

Glad I kept them!😃

Wow that's cool. Wonder why they were put on above in first place. I remember the later (maybe 78?) Cutlass had braces and my 70 Vista Cruiser had big long ones from the firewall to the outer rad support.

I believe those bars are supposed to offer additional structural support in a front end crash.

As I'm currently fighting with my front bumper fitment, that was my first thought, "those look like center bumper braces." At least you could find them after 5 years time!
