Hey All,

I've searched and not had much luck so I'll ask. Is there a good source for original style/type radiators to purchase? If not, who does restoration on our radiators? Who have you guys used and been happy with and who should I avoid?

I bought one from US Radiators. Was exactly like the original. Very happy with it but was pricey.

Did you get it recently? Was there any wait? How long have you had it? Yeah price is up there, but for a correct replacement, I'd say it's acceptable.

 

Do you have the original rad? If yes re-coring the old one would be an option. What's the best complete new one? Sorry can't advise on that.

I do still have the original and a rebuild is definitely acceptable. There just doesn't seem to be anyone doing that on the older radiators around here. They're all working on the aluminum core with plastic tanks. Such is life with a 53 year old car.

 

Shipping could get $$$ but Gary at AZ Radiator in Trenton NJ is third generation top shelf at this. PM me if needed and I will talk to him.

I noticed in the recent digital issue of Journey With Olds a company advertising from Farmingdale, NY--Cap-A Radiator. Their web site is here:

I've not used them, but they have an awesome web presence if that means anything, plus they do restorations.

Just saying. Not sure why the original domain name change to classicradiator (that's their business). Email remains the same (sales@ClassicRadiator.com). Just an interesting side note. Looks like a really good radiator shop by either name.

 

there are new aluminum radiators that have a generally similar factory appearance and can be painted black to look practically identical.

Cold Case is one brand, another is one offered through Auto City Classics - 1968-1972 GM A-Body Aluminum Radiator (autocityclassic.com)

 

I found another site same as www.caparadiator.com.= https://classicfordradiator.com/ I'd use forwarders instead of creating additional top level domain names but whatever floats your boat and gets the job done. I like this guy, Bill Carberry.

 

I had found these guys under classic radiator. Sounds like his head is in the right place. That's a definite plus.
