70 CS Convertible - Wet Trunk!

Suddenly after five years with a new top, there's water in the trunk. I've narrowed down the water entry to the two forwards corners nearest the back seat. After some hose testing, it seems water's coming in where the top meets the fenders, missing the internal gutters on both sides and running into the trunk instead of being channeled out the other way. I've tried cleaning the top where it meets the fenders in case dirt or debris was preventing a tight seal, and it seems pretty snug, but water's still getting in and missing the gutters. The gutters are pretty solid and don't seem to be able to be moved or reshaped.

Ideas? Is it something I can fix myself? Thanks!

Perhaps the top material has come loose from the lower tacking strip? Maybe the staples pulled out on those forward edges?
