Hole in fuel pump arm

Hole in fuel pump arm

My old fuel pump has a hole in the arm, the replacement i bought, same part number and make does not. should i drill this hole? it looks like it might be for oil drainage or something.

new fuel pump in back, old one in with hole in arm in the foreground.

I would not drill it.
