I don't get it... I just don't get it...
Why would you replace the cowl tag, then change the options that are listed on said cowl tag?

At the VERY MINIMUM place the cowl tag in THIS THREAD so anyone reading this thread can view the cowl tag they now have to reference by playing hop scotch to a previous thread where the cowl tag is located. Argh. 😡

It's so unscrupulous people can create a car that will hopefully command more money. A scam in other words.
The body tag was for the following. To tell the Fisher Body plant what color the car was to be painted, what trim and seating it got, and any options that would require a body piercing or alteration to accommodate installation. Altering it to designate, say, factory air when not originally equipped, a color/trim change to a more "sellable" one, 442 emblem piercings on a non-442, on and on. Did I say unscrupulous?
I ended a 17-year POCI membership when that group started allowing altered body tags. Color and trim changes, add/delete options, on and on. All so certain high profile GTO guys could "legitimize" the bastard cars they'd created and sell them for inflated money.
For that reason, I would never buy any muscle-era Pontiac without Pontiac Historical Services documentation. We in Oldsworld do not have that asset and luxury. Caveat emptor.

One has to wonder if it's #'s matching. Guess why the hammer dropped at only 19,500.
