way, way off topic

Hey, I need help. My dad's truck ('89 full size Chevy) was in a front end collision. He had a custom painted bug shield on the front that needs replacing. This was the old, flat, clear plexiglas type. Does anyone have access to one? This is very important. The only ones you can buy today are contoured. I figure the best shot at finding one is eBay, yard sales, etc. Let me know.

Thank you.

Did you check your local auto parts store? I know they carry items like that. You might also check out JC Whitney.

The local parts and JC Whitney all carry the new contoured (and more effective) style. I need the old, flat "wall" type. Not very aerodynamic but we need one like this to repaint the picture that was on the original.

Thanks though Olds64.

Can you just buy flat plexiglass sheet (Home Depot sells it) and make a replacement?

That is a definite option as long as we can fabricate mounting hardware. I did find something at Armadillo Bug Shield. It looks like they still sell that type.

The truck was hit this a.m. by my neighbor (full size dump truck) while it sat parked and unattended. Our insurance company says he is completely at fault and it's up to his carrier to correct it.
