One of our neighbors just lounging in our side yard after the snow fall... There are usually five of them grouped together... Must be the other four found a better place to lounge...

For many years, I have had Old Mama in the backyard. Old Mama had two does a few years ago, and they grew up and I think one got shot or hit or something, because it was only the two of them, and now Mama Jr has one of her own. They show up in the spring, eat my summer apples, but are not around for even early season urban reduction zone bow hunting, else one of them would get stuck, retrieved, processed and deposited in my freezer in short order.

 

Used to have them bed in my backyard, new neighbors have 5 dogs, now we don’t even get tracks in the snow. Helps my raspberry bushes, but we miss them. I’ve taken one near home with the bow, kinda neat dragging a deer thru suburbia.

 

We used to have deer drop their new born fawns unattended on our back porch when we lived in Spring Branch Tx. It was pretty cool to see them there in the morning while drinking our coffee.

 

All the time I spend in the woods Ive only ever found one.

 

We live in a smallish subdivision, but it's located within an otherwise rural, undeveloped area. This pic was taken on the street just behind our house on 26 January. We've counted as many as 25 in one herd before. We have to be extremely careful driving in/out from the main road, especially at night because they're everywhere, along with large groups of turkeys.

The three deer were chilling on my driveway tonight and I had to idle past them.

 

Our Neighbours haven't been back in a few years. They were starving the one Winter and they were knocking over bird feeders.

 

It seems, you guys don't have to go out, in order to buy meat anymore. With no natural predators around like mountain lions, wolves and bears, it's only a matter of time, before they go hungry

 

These stupid animals are taking over, eventually there will be no place for us huMANS to live.

 

I've heard them called "rats on stilts", I guess because of their eating habits.

 

They're fairly good eating. We're not talking beef here, but deer venison is decent. Not too bad to clean, I can take one down to hams, backstraps, tenderloins, shoulders, and neck in 90 min or so. I'm pretty slow, but I've cut up 30 or so.
