What is this?

I've never seen a car with this air cleaner. https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/...221116287.html

IIRC it’s a K50, 1967(?) only air cleaner. I’m sure that someone who knows details can fill in the blanks but that’s the basics.

That air cleaner is a 67 only unit used on all Turnpike cruisers 2bbl carbed and was optional on all 67 models with a 8 cylinder engine either 2bbl or 4bbl. It was designed with a hot air riser from manifold heat to keep intake air temperature constant for better fuel economy.

It's a predecessor to standard stuff everywhere a few years later.
