I sold this piece to a guy who needed it for his 1929 olds that he got from his father that was a unrestored original with a broken headlight bar. It found a great home!





I picked this up this week at a antique mall, I thought it was old and cool was going to repurpose it on some yard art until a friend told me it was a 2 year only piece on a 29 and 30 oldsmobile

. Just wondering how rare it was and if it was better off where it was intended to use it on someones restoration. Any input would be appreciated.

They have been reproduced many years ago but in very small #s.
I'd take it off your hands if not too badly pitted.

Not unless I would see it. I guess the look of it would give it away.

 

Greg, that's probably a one-of-a-kind piece now that it's so old. As you said, if someone is restoring a 29 or 30 Oldsmobile it might be the last piece they are looking for. However, I don't know of ANY folks driving or restoring an Oldsmobile that old. It's definitely a candidate for our rarest Oldsmobile part thread.

I have a doctor friend who restores White touring cars and the question came up where do you get original parts? His reply was with money most anything can be had with the internet, the stuff is out there you just have to search, isn't that half the fun? He must be having lots of fun I think he has 7 of them..... Tedd

 

Yes I do love the search and the feeling when I finally find something I’ve been looking for. What a rush lol
