Just to make sure but I want to verify the rear molding near the windshield on a OAI hood is the same as a regular hood? I heard in the past the OAI molding has a wider opening due to fiberglass and metal in contrast to two layers of metal on a standard hood. Anybody know anything about this?

 

I believe they are the same but not sure. I know I just used the original piece from my stock metal hood on my repro w25 hood. I had to open it up quite a bit to fit over the fiberglass. I’m sure the aftermarket hood is much thicker in that area then the OEM w25 hood and I was still able to make it fit. If you found one off a factory w25 hood it would probably fit better, but I believe the metal hood trim can be opened up enough to fit.

 

Same part on both hoods.

 

The parts book lists only one P/N for all 1968-72 Cutlii: 398616.
