Hope this stays put, what's the weight of the hood about 100lbs?

 

id be a little worried abou the hood swinging in the wind with the door open,cutting the ropes on the bracing

 

It should be fine as a temporary situation. Your garage door weighs a whole lot more. As a long term, you’d be better to hang vertically on the wall using the hinge mounts as pick up points. (Less stress on your ceiling supports).

 

Run diagonaly from hood to wall to reduce weigt on middle perhaps
