Whitewall tires

I purchased brand new whitewall tires for my 57 olds. And I can't get them white. Never had this trouble, usually I use bleach white or brillo pad but no luck. Any help or suggestions appreciated

What brand?
What's the DOT date(s) on the sidewalls?

Quite often brownish white walls happen when the sealer fails that is laminated between the black casing and the white wall. Oil in the tire bleeds through the sealer and stains the white wall. Sometimes it will leach out in time other times it is there for the life of the tire.
Check with the place you bought them from the manufacturer may have a recall.... Tedd

When you stack whitewalls you stack them with the whitewalls facing each other. Try some Comet or similar cleaner with a wire brush like a BBQ grill brush. If that doesn't clean them then probably nothing will. I still have some of the old Westley's Tire Bleach and it is very good.

I thought it was just my imagination, but I agree. I used to sell old cars and always cleaned the whitewall with Bleach white and the results were great. These were usually cars that weren't kept up well but even after the whitewall was never never cleaned the life of the tire they would clean right up. Now I have BFG raised white letter tires on my 71 and they don't seen to clean up worth a crap using bleach white.

Is there a new bleach white?
For the past few years I have been using it, but the spelling on the bottle is "Black Magic Bleche Wite". I use it on my tires and white convertible top. I have had no issues at all. It works great for me.

Get the Uniroyal warranty team involved and get a claim number.

I had to get BFG warranty involved when the rears on mine went brown after 1yr. They had maybe 200 miles on them.
Nothing worked. I resorted to wet sanding with 200gr with bleach/water/Dawn. That improved it but the brown would bleed right back through after a month.

Come to find out it was a known problem just like what Ted said. Black leaches through the white.

I purchased them through a local tire warehouse distributor to cut out the middle man.
With the claim number, I had to get a local "dealer" involved who handled the BFG transaction and tire change out.
BFG gave me a full replacement. I did have to pay $2 each for disposal, NBD. So far they look as great as the fronts. Been 2 years.

FYI BleachWhite doesn't work anymore. It was reformulated a few years ago and simply doesn't work.
Look for a commercial auto detailer/paint/body supply house. They will have the good stuff as well as anything else you'd need for cleaning/detailing.

Follow up here with your results.

If you look at the USB code it will read the same as Westleys. I was under the impression that when the UCB is the same so is the product unless somewhere it is labeled as new and improved or some how labeled that it has been changed.
I have a jug of the Black Magic type cleaner and it seems to work the same as my old Westleys, it could be very old though I bought it near the time that Westleys was bought out by Black Magic.... Tedd

Yes because the old bleach white would turn yellow when you sprayed it on and it came out great, the new one doesn't do anything and I've never had trouble cleaning my whitewalls

The results may vary with the contamination/ stains you are trying to remove. Like I said before it works for me and the road grime I'm trying to remove your milage may differ..... Tedd
