68 442 Antenna is the tip oval

or eliptical as the rest of the antenna or the teardrop style or neither? I am thinking oval/eliptical but not sure.

Thank you

The tip of my original manual antenna on my '68 4-4-2 is like an upside -down cone that ends at the bottom with a hexagon shape. The antenna - all pieces from the biggest to the smallest - is eliptical.

'68 antenna tips are hexagon-you can put a wrench on it to spin it off and change the mast... my antennas are round from top to bottom!! Oops..the rear power mast is round and the front fender is eliptical with the cone shape with hex-this on my daughters convert...

That is what I purchased the eliptical with the cone shaped tip. I got it right just by accident.

Thank you very much for the infomation.

Nice and cheap, aren't they? I was real psyched to plop down $290 for the entire original style assembly.

yes well i had searched for sometime for one and was willing to plop down 200 or more for the antenna. My son was able to find the antenna on ebay but it was listed incorrectly stating it was for a 65 starfire. I paid only 25 dollars for it, i almost bought one the day before on ebay but got sniped it went for 270.
