Gauge cluster idea, worth the effort?

Well I got my 350 and 350 trans in my wagon last week and have about 500 miles on it. It runs great and is mostly dialed in now. I'm not sure what rear end gears i have but, 1 I am getting the same gas mileage from a 350-th350 trans as i was with the 307/200 4r and 2, im only turning 3k rpms cruising at 90 mph on the highway. It's a 1990 buick estate wagon, maybe someone has an idea?

Ok now to the gauges idea I have brewing. I have a nice spare set of 70- 72 cutlass gauges, Speedo & gas gauge. They are literally the same size as the buick clusters but they look way classier and actually read over 85. I know they will fit (looks like it...) but my concern is the printed circuit board plug in for the lights. I havnt compared the harnes plug ins yet. If they are different, is it possible to hard wire them. I'm not going to use the idiot lights like alt, hot lights because I already have those in my information center in the middle of the dash. What do you guys think?

That's very interesting, I bought a clock for my 71 Cutlass that the guy had put the guts out of a 85 or so Buick clock in the 71 clock. It works great because of the newer quartz movement. Those cutlass gauges do look neat in the Buick dash.

Yes they can be hard wired/spliced through the CB feed or just wire the gauges direct.

Lol I have that same quartz clock in my 83 buick. The car is old, battered and rundown but the clock keeps marching on.

Nope, that would be one year newer. Still the same car from 77-90. The 91s started using all the electronics and stuff like that
