Road Trip!

Not sure that this will be very interesting but I will attempt to update this as we go. This thread for me is going to be more about teaching myself how to use this phone the company I work for give me. (see my other phone thread)

We are leaving in the morning to look at and most likely pick up a 63 Jetfire in Virginia. We will be stopping at a couple places on the way down. I will try to update this thread with pictures along the way. I will try to post a picture shortly just to figure out how by phone.

Well, I got one set of pictures to post but can't get it to work again. I am back to the computer now. I am done for tonight with the phone. My eyes hurt.

You should stop at Berdine's Five and Dime in Harrisville, West Virginia. The oldest Dime Store still in existence; they have been there since 1908. The place is a real walk back in time.

Here is what the waterfall looked like this spring.

Did you come across on I64 to Charleston, or across I70 then I77 to Charleston?

If if you are driving with a trailer, you are having a nice curvy drive on 119.

64 is rough on a loaded trailer in WV. I came back with my little 4 banger Tacoma pulling my utility trailer with the powertrain of a 442 I bought from the late, great Ed Skaff, and Truckistan did not care for that extra 2k lbs back there.

I took 35 from Dayton to Charleston. I told my wife that the fals would look much better during the spring rains.

June was one of the wettest I can remember. This was around the first of July.

I never have taken 35 before. Although, I am sure I crossed it twice today, as I was on 32 from Athens to Cincinnati.

The car is home but needs lots of little details finished. Going to be much more work than expected but will still be a great driver when finished.

Back to the reason for the thread. I know how to post by phone somewhat now but it is not for me. I will stick to the computer for my Oldsmobile dealings and forums. The phone is to slow and clumsy for this stuff. I am starting to see some advantages for having it but not for conversation other than calls. I can not type fast on it at all and on top of that it hurts my eyes. Thanks for following along.

Nice purchase. If you have to drive long distance that's a great car to do it for.

Great road trip, and great pictures. I don't know about that steering wheel...

That interior is absolutely amazing, although it would be nice to have an original steering wheel to go with it...

It came with one from a 62 that is in bad condition. I started working on it tonight. Not sure if I can make it work or not. I have wanted ads posted for a correct 63 in better shape.
