I'm about to put short sweep electric VDO volts, oil and temp gauges in the 88.
Question for discussion is what range should the gauges be?

Looking at between 100 - 220F for the water temp and 0 - 80psi on the oil.
I recon the oil range will be okay but I'm only going to be driving her in the summer and it gets between 96 to 104F (36 - 40C) consistently for weeks on end during the hottest part of the year here.

My Delta is optioned code L74 455ci 800cfm QJet, code M40 TH400, code Y72 H/D radiator with bigger trans cooler inside. Car has code C60 ice cold factory A/C and code C49 63A alternator.

Should I go for a range from 100 - 250F on the temp and does anyone know at what temp the idiot light comes on?

Yes, go for the 100-250f (or 50-120c), it will let you know when to give up if you're nursing it home with an overheating issue, and you will know if the thermostat is working properly.
9-16v on the voltmeter too.
