Outside on top. Can't miss it. The positive cable ties into it. I don't have a pic handy, but I'll see if I can find one.

It's been awhile since mine was together, it may be bolted to the top inside
of the fender, still can't miss it though.

Along with a large chunk of your original wiring, apparently. What a mess!

Sorry, but you're going to need the wiring diagram from a Chassis Service Manual to dig out of this.

I am not surprised.

It seems that over the years whoever owned it just took stuff off that didnt work and went around it.

They removed the brake boster and mounted the master cylinder to the firewall, removed the power steering pump, brackets ect, and plugged the gear box with brass plugs, removed the ac compressor and brackets, the dash gauges do not work and the wiring undeneath the dash are a mess as well.

Bummer. That is a wiring wreck. It can be sorted out with the help of the CSM
and some of the fellas here may have a front wire harness available.

You need to know the 69-70 442 harness is a little different from the Cutlass though.
The 442 in 69 and 70 was wired with the internal voltage regulator in the alternator.
The Cutlass was wired with it's harness to an external V/R on the firewall.

You may want to post in the parts wanted forum for a forward harness for your car.
Good luck with it for sure.

I just read through you last posts. Sounds like a Mulligan in more ways than one.

Oh and welcome to CO. Post some pics of the beast when you get a chance.
We always like to see them no matter the state they're in.

Thanks.
To dang hot here in Houston to worry with it right now.

It starts and drives, driving is a challenge with manual brakes and steering, but
I have a 52 Buick that is the same, on purpose though, it was made that way.

The 69 and 70 harness are also different from each other. While the wires and colors are the same, the location of specific wires within the firewall connector was changed from 1969 to 1970. I have no idea why, but I discovered this when I tried to use a 1970 Supreme lamp harness on my 1969 442.
