Need A/C condenser solution for 1964 Cutlass
Gents -
Greetings! Hoping for some A/C guidance.
My car is 1964 Cutlass, 330 cu., 4bbl, Jetaway. About halfway through body-off restoration. It is time to get serious about an air conditioning plan. The bottom line is that I only "need" a condenser (and, always, some additional knowledge).
I have plenty of R12, guages and tools, and the MACS license, also NOS drier, rebuilt A6 compressor, rebuilt evaporator (years ago, then boxed and stashed). The dash is completely restored, so the original controls all are in good shape, as are the vents and ducts.
Who do you recommend for a replacement condenser? I hunted on-line a bit and really couldn't zero-in on a source. Your insight and pointers will be greatly appreciated.
Alternatively, I expect I can come up with a core if rebuilding makes sense, But from what I read, modern replacements are by design much better than old school design.
Thanks in advance,
docsteen
