Carburetor Rebuild Advise
Carburetor Rebuild Advise
I decided to send my Qjet to a rebuild shop instead of doing it myself. Since it has been sitting for so long I would rather a competent shop check everything and do a quality rebuild. Recommendations for a trustworthy shop? Anyone have any reviews on Mountain Man Fuel Systems; Hackett, AR? Got a verbal quote from Mtn Man for $180-$200 plus shipping, subject to inspection.
I consider Cliff Ruggles the best in the country. I've been rebuilding qjets for 30 years and have great respect for him. Good luck.

Thanks for the recommendation. I checked out Cliff's website and the turn around time is 5-6 months. I am slow but I would like to get it running by January. At least that is my goal. I may try Mtn Man unless someone has another recommendation. Turn around time is 7-10 days.
Thanks for the mention true blue.
I do a complete build for a stock engine for $225.
Includes new jets, primary rods (on pre 75), float, primary rod bushings, high flow needle/seat, primary vacuum pull off, power Piston spring, secondary air valve cam and stension spring, complete accelerator pump assembly, all gaskets including base and air cleaner, sealing of well plugs, fuel filter, and more. It is a true complete build.
Our current turnaround is 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for the reply. You are within my budget and time frame. I checked out your website and saw the information. Does it include the choke pulloff? I suspect the diaphragm is brittle from sitting so long. I don't need a "show piece", just one that works. I will likely be sending you the carb. Do I schedule it thru the website or ????. Thanks! Ken
Update...removed the carb this morning and will get it ready to ship early next week as soon as I get details. Now if I can get the dang fuel line at the fuel pump loose (sprayed more PPB on the fitting).
Quadra...

Services are listed on my website store, and some purchase there and send their carb in. Most send me the carb and let me review it, and email an invoice for payment with credit/debit or PayPal.
Shipping address is on my FAQ page. Make sure to pack it well and put information in box for your contact info and car and engine.
