An Oldsmobile built in 1970 at the Fremont, California plant. 114431 is the assembly sequence number and doesn't decode to a particular type of vehicle. That would need to be surmised by knowing which vehicles were manufactured at the Fremont plant during that time frame.

That is a VIN derivative stamp, so it won't really tell you anything about the engine other than that it is from a 1970 Cutlass. The block and head casting numbers are more informative.

Hi Joe the numbers I have found on the block tell me it is a 350 the numbers on the head are 8 is on the front cylinder left hand side 10 411 928 x 261 the strange thing is the valve size are inlet 1.875 dia .341 stem 4.465 over all length and the exhaust 1.625 dia same stem and 4.645 length hope you can make some sense out of that

Bill,

Your block and head castings weren't even born in the same year, so clearly the motor has been apart at least once. Blue paint is not original on that block.
