Your Thoughts on Vanity Plates for my Olds
I just thought I would see what some of you think. In the end, all seem good enough but I thought I would see if any plate stood out to you Oldsmobile owners. Here are my plate ideas. Please vote on one, or give me another idea.
Plates for 1970 Cutlass Supreme;
Allowed to have 6 and one number, or 5 and 2 numbers

You have to keep in mind the typical person who will see your plates, and that's someone who is not an Oldsmobile person. Therefore, most people who see your plate are not going to know what "CS" stands for, so I would avoid that. Don't be too subtle as people will miss your meaning.
I would also avoid MY. It seems that half the vanity plates I see have MY in them, and all I can think is duh! It's obviously your car!
How about 70 CUTLS or 70 CUTTY? I've never been a fan of the word "Cutty" to describe a Cutlass, but many people use it.
Or be a little sideways about it. How about WHITE TP or 4 WHEELS or 7T OLDS?

A cool thing here in Oregon we can do is get period correct plates and put on ly one on the back and they will do a permanent registration. My 67 Convertible has the rear plate off a car my grandfather bought new on it and is registered that way.

Well its blue. Chances are it might be fast. so Blueby u .
For me i think my vanity plate would have to be punk rkt or cpr ctls or copr rkt . I was heavily involved in the punk rock scene in my younger years so its a bit of a throwback to have punkrkt for my plate.

The state is back doing vanity plates ? I thought they stopped until the shut down was over. I don't watch the news so I'm curious. Same reason they are not mailing renewal tags I guess.

A word of caution; with some of the police abuses out there, do you really want an oddball tag that Joe Thug Five 0 might not recognize as legal on your car and give him an excuse to pull you over, arrest you, then joyride you car like happened to that retired couple last year?
I have the original plate and original registration for my Monte Carlo, and since I'm a "fifth," it's even in my name, courtesy of my grandfather. It's plated to Florida right now, but I will retitle it back to Indiana soon, and I am not sure if I want to run that plate YOM here, even though I can, just because I don't want to be hassled by ignorant cops.

I saw camero yanco clone . With YNK-THS . I can't remember how it was spelled but it meant yank this. It had a Hugh engine and the rear slicks looked like they were no more than 30 inches apart.

These are mine from Illinois and I have them out here in California as well.
Just because they say you are limited, doesn't necessarily mean that you are.

It took about a year before the state realized that someone looking in their rear view mirror would read something entirely different on my tag.
They then wasted no time in notifying me that I had to change them.
Lately I've been thinking about getting MDLFCRS for my cutlass, but I now live in Maryland and the state charges close to $300 every 2 years for personalized tags, compared to $50 that I pay now.
