You read threads for entertainment??

I have noticed after following threads and seeing comments from certain people that I will look at a thread just to see what that person has said. Joe is one ( for a good reason- I like to see what he says and value his knowledge). But there is some I look at just to get a laugh from. There are at least 2. I remember someone else commented that since posts are done at home they may be written while under the influence?? Yes I drink too and sometimes want to comment while imbibing but try not to. Actually I bought my Vista Cruiser on ebay while sipping. After that I have said Black Velvet and ebay don't mix!

A post about drinking and posting 1st thing on a Monday morning....? I had to cut way back on the sauce; my check liver light came on. I'll have a beer with the neighbor for happy hour these days, but no more gallon of potatoes per week. I try to help where I can, but yeah, reading mostly for entertainment purposes.

Same here -- I don't drink anymore. And keep your smart remarks about my not drinking any less to yourself.

I don't drink near as much as I did in my youth. In the winter, beer will stay in the fridge for weeks if someone does want a beer and then I'll have one with them. Not a T totaler at all, but I don't like to get out there anymore. Two close relationships with alcoholics will do that for you. As far as why I participate in this forum, I like to help others with issues I have had some nonage in and read about some of the escapades members have, Classic Oldsmobile goes good with my first cup of morning coffee... Hi all,

I read post on vehicle sites, for knowledge, history, a good laugh, and certain posters wit or take on things.

As for drinking on a Monday morning, all I can say it is a national holiday, just saying, personally try to wait until noon, lol

As for drinking and Evilbay, never works within your sober budget, but it's amazing how many bids you can get in in the last 30 seconds...

Cheers to all, alcoholic or non.

Regards,
Jim

Occasionally I used to have a sip of Crown Royal or Antique Wellers (107 proof) but after turning 78 and having open heart surgery and back vertebrae fusion, I have mostly given up. Still have over 3/4 of a bottle of both aging in the cabinet. I read mostly for the advise some of the "experts: give novices. By no means am I an expert but I do know a little about a lot.

I enjoy getting information from our website and giving what little information I know. Even if it's not always accurate.

As far as drinking alcohol is concerned, I can't give advice about that...

As for the drinking I rarely have beer in the house but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy a ice cold Miller Genuine Draft or Corona every now and then usually if I'm out with a friend or on my annual fishing trip, and I can enjoy a properly made Bloody Mary with a nice fat beef stick to keep it stirred and a extra olive and a pickle spear (you can keep the celery !!!! )
As for entertainment I enjoy this place a lot and appreciate the wealth of knowledge here. Now as far as post I have seen some really contentious
threads and some not so polite post , I guess the ones that bother me the most are the ones that really nit- pick somebody's pride and joy I guess it's ok to point out something that's incorrect but lets remember a vehicle can be like a wardrobe not everybody likes the same things and a vehicle can be a extension of someone's personality and theirs to do with as they please.
As far as the contentious post I admit to reading them till their end as they do become quite entertaining !! (some times the mods step in)
I usually read them and say damn I cant believe they said that !!!! then I sit back chuckle to myself and say glad I'm not involved in that !!
now that being said The older I get the less people listen to me even though in most cases I can say been there done that !! also the older I get the less I care what they think !! Does anybody remember the show Becker ?? I'm not a huge Ted Danson fan but I loved his character !!
I think it was my alter ego !! uhh oh See I'm getting old I went off on a tangent.
P/S in my younger days when I frequented bars I put the beer glass goggles on more then once !!
thank God I didn't have them on when I met my wife (she's beautiful ) but of course it was my rugged good looks, charming personality and a 1971 Triumph Bonneville that aided in reeling her in !! and of course I remind her constantly if she would not have turned my head I would just be eye candy on some other lucky gals arm !!!!

You get the gist of what I was talking about Solly! I agree with you about getting older and knowing you have been thru a situation and attempt to offer advice but the younger person doesn't want to hear it- I guess that's how it goes. I have never seen the show Becker. I'll look for it.

Becker was a good show.

And it had Olds content too, as he drove a ratty green 77-79 full size Olds.

I don't drink, never been drunk so I have no excuses for my poor decisions.... I miss the days of Norm (RIP), anyone remember him. I LOVED reading his stuff. I was only ever the butt of his comments one time but I was laughing the entire time.

I always enjoyed Chris Witt’s (Octania) post. They were usually very informative. A few times I almost spit coffee across the room while reading some of them.

"Some people" don't realize how "entertaining" they are. We also have some very smart, experienced and knowledgeable people on here that provide information to help us.
