Bought this 1970 Cutlass S in 2017. It had been sitting in a storage locker for 20 years...gassed her up and drove her home, washed, then parked her.
At the time, it had an Olds 260, white bench interior and column shift. I changed all that. Pulled the engine, tinkered a bit but it mostly sat for the next few years while life settled down and I figured out what my plan for the car was. The real work began in earnest in 2022. Although never intending to go to such lengths, I wound up with a powerhouse engine, manual transmission, black bucket interior, posi rear and so forth. About the only thing that I didn't change on the car was the paint...topside at any rate. Body came off the frame for stripping and repainting.
So here I am, 3 1/2 years later and finally took the car for a shakedown drive around the block (maybe a bit further). Holy cow is this thing a beast now! Can't wipe the grin off my face. Still work to do...in for alignment tomorrow, doing glass/paint work for the hood and interior is a work in progress. Lots of little things to keep picking away at too, but vast majority is good to go. Front end sits a lot higher than I wanted (new UMI stock height small block springs) so that will be one of what I'm sure will be several winter projects!
Here she sits after the first run, beside my survivor and all stock '71 Cutlass S
