Wrong Center Link

Went to install a new Center Link on the VC and it rubs on the oil pan.
Double checked the part number and application and it's supposed to fit.

Anyone have this problem? Don't know if a mis-packaged part or one of those parts that just don't fit.
I obviously can't use this, anyone got another brand / part# that would work ?

Do you have the OE center link?

It does look like the new center link sits high. Any chance the engine is too low? Were the mounts, frame pads and/or transmission mount and crossmember changed?

The level of detail under there looks over-the-top, kudos.

Yes, engine and trans mount changed. The engine mount looked identical, but I will measure the thickness on both and compare.
The old trans mount was beyond deteriorated for comparison. Could it be possible that the new trans mount pushed it up too far?
Very good points to check out, Thank you

I checked the specs on the new trans mount; 1.68" high. Don't know what the original was. See picture below

The idler arm and steering box bolt holes have clearance. The CSM tells you to loosen and reposition those components to get the correct clearance.

I loosened the steering Box and Idler Arm and got 1/8 " clearance now. A step in the right direction, thanks Joe.
I did compare the old and new mounts, they're the same. I wonder if the trans mount is a bit taller than original.
How much clearance should there be ? This was an oversight on my behalf before taking things apart.

Any clearance over zero is fine. Also note that since the motor mounts are only a couple of inches behind the center link, changing the height of the trans mount has a very tiny impact on center link clearance.

I'll spin the steering wheel and check clearance. Hopefully it's good.
Maybe change the Title to "Right Link Installed Wrong"
Thanks to all for the input

I've had them wrong, but it was overall length. If you have an Energy poly trans mount, it's too tall. They make a "short" GM mount and don't use the preload plate.
