Wow What a Crazy Few Days!

Okay..The restoration on my 72' 442 was completed back in October 2010. The only thing left to do was to put on the stripes. I got a call from a good friend who owns and runs Xcentrick Autosports in Windsor Ontario. They were one of the major sponsors at the Mens Expo a two day mans show April 29&30th. He wants to put my car in it because it turned out so nice. I told him I did not want to because the stripe kit was not put on yet, and the guy doing it wouldn't be able to do it til' the end of May. Chris said he would put them on no charge so we could put the car in the show.

This was very cool because they only had room for a handful of cars. I did get a lot of nice compliments on the car, and a good picture with the "Bud Girls"

Here are some pics of before, after, and Bud Girls. Enjoy!

Joe your car looks very nice. The shine on the paint is extravagant LOL.
So have you completed your W-29 442? Did the gauge work out?
Budweiser girls are nice, but can't compete with the MIller Girls Job well done.

Beautiful car. Cool story. Too bad those girls got in the way of the car in the last photo!

Hey Kino! Thanks for the kind words. I have not installed the gauges yet. I did have the clock checked out and it does not work, and I have not had the tach part looked at yet. The guys at JH Restorations will pull it apart to test everything and repair whatever needs repairing. Still a nice piece I really appreciated the help on that.

It was actually called the Mens Expo, I know sounds kind of lame. This was the first one. It was all things guy related. Motorcycles, cars, go-go dancers, Bud Girls, food eating contest, hot rod shops, they even had a small airplane in the building for a company that does flight lesssons.

The Bud Girls were very sweet. The problem I have now is that they just are a few years older than my own daughter, so that kind of kills it...The blonde asked if they could have their picture taken with there camera then I took one with my phone camera. She said she liked the car because her Dad has a similar one....

Thanks! Before I painted it everyone wanted me to go with the lighter green and black stripes. I wanted to stay with the original dark green. I like the depth of it. Wow...three girls and twins. I have one 18 year old daughter. Cute girl, great kid, good head on her shoulders. She does not put up with the BS some of these guys try.

I honestly think we had a girl as a payback for something in my youth...

Hi Jay! I would have let you know but, he called me Wednesday while I was out of town for work. He picked up the car on Thursday and brought it to the show on Friday. I went up Friday after I got home. I think that was the first time anyone has driven her but me?!

Did you get the registration flyer for Windsor Area Street Rods show in May?

Wink

Hi Joe: I received the flyer about the 37th Anniversary Car Show at Gil Maure Park in Lasalle, ON, Sunday May 29th, 2011.

It's the Lasalle Area Street Rods big spring car show!

You are the Grand Puba of this event, and yes I will be there for sure!
I was there last year and had a great time! I can't wait to see you and your refreshed 1972 442.

Hey, you could probably beat me out of the hole, but my '67 Delta 88 just might take you at the top end!
At least it would be fun trying!

Jaybird

Heard the old saying. When you have a son you only worry about one ***** in town, when you have a daughter you have to worry about every ***** in town.
Gary

Oh! nice car by the way
