Hard to say, I would have a hard time since I've had my baby since I was 15. Lots of memories. Good luck with your decision.

I would have to take it by the car. Would you replace it with another 67 vert or would you try another year say 69 or a 58 ?? If so with all the time you will have in the next part of your life see if you could get him to let you play with it for the rest of the year or till you find your new toy.

 

Most likely not. Had a hard time finding my 57 plus could not pay the price they want for one now days, My kids can sell my cars when i die or my mind doesn't work anymore

 

Ironically enough, my 2nd born son was born just 3 days ago so I found the thread title crazy.

But, upon reading everything I would also go with the selling it vote. But then again, I'm a young guy and have owned my current Cutlass for less then 2 years. You can't put a price on memories, but you can make new ones with another project.

 

You and your neighbor must have done a very nice job of restoring the car, if you were offered BJ money.
I would appreciate it if you could post more pictures of this car. The avatar is too small to see clearly.
As suggested before, I would offer the potential buyer a deal.
He buys a restorable car, buys all the parts to restore it, and you restore it for the remainder of the "stupid Money".

 

$45k for 11 years work isn't that good a return on your investment, but it is a substantial sum all the same.
If you are in the happy position of not having to worry about that kind of money I say well done and keep the car, if the offer is enough to make you think about it - I think it is or you wouldn't have started this thread - then you should consider whether the memories that go with the car and the pleasure of owning a great car are worth the offered price.
It could be that prices for collector cars will go through the roof in the future, or they might hit the floor, if I could forecast the market I would be retired rich now.

Roger, The prices for old cars is almost directly tied to the state of the economy.
Old car prices went crazy during the "boom" years of the '90's and even into the 21st century. The "crash" of 2008 sent car prices (except for the choicest, high dollar cars) into a sharp nosedive, from which they have just been recently recovering.

 

Car prices are set by the whim of the buyer. Outside of the truly collectable and supply vs demand, it takes someone to fall in love with most cars to open their checkbook. That is how the car market works.
