Well cant say I care much for the paint but I like the visor, the wheels and the interior. Pretty sure your the only one with one of these at cruise night. Have a look. Watch the video. https://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/v...dsmobile-wagon.

Pretty cool.

I remember seeing a 50 or 51 Oldsmobile tin woody wagon for sale a few years ago that was at least a yard driver. I wonder if this is the same one that has since been restored. I bet it's a cruiser.

Thanks for posting that. I sure do love the wagons.

It was done to a good standard, but it appeared to have been done in stages, with different restorers. The last one was technically OK but lacked a bit in imagination and artistry.

What's in the plywood-covered box in the rear compartment that spans between wheel wells? I'm not familiar enough with those old models to figure that out.

1950 was the last year for an Olds wagon until the 1957 model year. Too bad about the belly-button motor. The car needs a J2.

I remember a 50 Olds wagon that was owned by a local fire department. It was outside to be washed and polished every other week end during summer. It was a beautiful "Fire Engine red" "woodie". It was bought from the fire department in the 60's and turned into an NHRA V Stock drag car. Last I heard, its still around but painted blue a bit "butchered" with some kind of hood scoop.

Back then, they handicapped "stock eliminator cars" based on NHRA national records. One time I got my 1968 Hurst/Olds paired up against the V Stock 50 Olds wagon. The 50 Olds wagon got about a five second head start. I got really anxious sitting at the line waiting for my side of the "Christmas tree" to start, while that car kept getting smaller and smaller. I cut a good light and didn't red light. I caught him at the finish line and it was so close that I had to wait till I got my time card to see it was marked "Win".

Were those hub caps Ford? If not I didn't know that anybody else beside Ford had V8 hubcaps like that. Too bad for the flame job on the front, otherwise the paint is really nice.

Aftermarket artillery wheels. Yes, you can get them with plain caps.

Who do these people hire to write their ad copy?🤨

Smarmy, cloying and ultimately off-putting. DK who's worse about that now, realtors or car dealers.

2382 1950 88 wagons built and only 368 Seventy-Sixes. Shame that a car as rare as 1950 wagon got butchered up to satisfy some mental midget's masturbation fantasies.

Looks like “true fire” paint work from the late Mike Lavallee.

Truth be told I would prefer a stock example as well as I tend to be a preservationist however once your name goes on the title your free to do as you please to each his own, I have seen plenty of resto mods I liked. That being said if it were me here is what I would have done (outside of returning to stock) I would have chosen perhaps a dark jade green or a deep maroon or maybe even black with that color interior and maybe a little something different for the wood trim , most people go with the lighter wood accents on woody's I would opt for a darker mahogany for a little less contrast with the rest of the paint and if I had to go with flames they would be ghost flames. Either way it was nice to see a wagon, just not many of those 50's wagons around.

Here's a '49 "woody" at an AACA meet in Melbourne FL in 2022.
Bone stock, except for the stick holding the hood up.

A bit of trivia;
1949 wagons had real wood sides and tail gates.
1950 models had " wood grained " steel panels and tail gates.
