Winter Storage

Just lost my garage for my 75 Delta 88 Convertible due to my neighbor passing away and family selling the house. My 2 options are looking for another garage (not a problem) or buying one of those temporary garages and putting it in my driveway. Any feedback positive/negative. Thanks Matt

I hide one of my cars in one but have recovered the the frame so as it is totally enclosed. I get snow and wind so time will tell if it will hold up if I get a huge dump and can't get out to clear it off. It is a temp fix and I would rather have a stick built garage / shop but that's not in the cards right now..... Tedd

I've had one of those portable shelters collapse from snow. Fortunately, it was only my tractor that was in it at the time.

I have one. Depending on your climate they are not very good. I used to keep it closed up. If it is cool during the night and warm in the day it literally rains inside. So much moisture the aluminum was corroding. Also the floor get wet when it rains. This cause a lot of moisture damage as well. Now I just park my DD in it with the door always open. I do store my vette in there during the summer. Not a very good winter shelter for a classic Olds.

If it's not a problem to find another garage (or renting a storage unit), I would go that route especially if you are living in Taxachusetts. Between the wind, snow, ice, etc..., it's not really worth the chance.
