Windshield Wiper Blades

Can you get replacement wiper blades for a 1970 442/Cutlass. I had bought the whole arm and blade replacement, but now I want to just replace the blades. I remember putting in inserts years back, but the common practice today is to replace the metal and rubber blade. What's out there?

Yes, just go to your local auto parts store.

They will often no longer carry refills. None of the ones around here do.

RockAuto has them, though - you need to search their site for your blade length.

None of the auto parts stores around here carry refills either. The guy at the commercial desk at O'reilly's just laughed when I asked about this last Tuesday.
Widths vary too.

Few auto parts stores stock refills any more, and the ones that do only have the plastic refills, not the correct-looking metal ones. As noted, RockAuto sells them. I just bought two sets for my 62s.

Refills exist, but there are a few types. You would start with figuring out what the original blade is. Should be Anco or Trico. These technically take different refills. Most places will have a universal refill you cut to length, more like the Trico style, with a clip at one end. Anco blades took a refill where the blade came apart to replace it, the 15 series if I remember right. Someone is making these again, but I would not recommend Ebay for NOS, as the rubber is years old and probably dry rotted. Auto Parts Warehouse and Amazon both have some of these listed. Trico hads also re-introduced the complete blade in the satin stainless finish.
