windlace

I bought a set of windlace from opgi, and the plastic that slides onto the metal is 1/4 inch wide, where an original is 3/4,the plastic section that has the cutout for the striker.I pulled windlace off a car at the salvage yard to compare to the new set.Original plastic is 3/4 ".Does anyone know what retailer sells windlace that is original size?Is 1969 windlace the same as 70-72? Also,I went to the local old car yard, and many cars still have like new headlights low and high beam.I can't find these in any automotive places anymore, are they worth pulling off the old cars in the yard.I had a guy offer to buy the T3 bulbs on my cutlass for a fair amt of money. Is t3 the name for any older bulb that's not halogen? Thanks!

The bulb will say T3 on it embossed in the glass. I have seen people ask 100+ for a set of four but I have found them at swap meets recently for 5 - 15 each. They make reproductions so they look the same but are brighter. I beleive the 72s are the rare version of the T3s. If I was you I'd buy a few of them. Good to have around if cheap enough.

Some folks won't use them because they just are not bright enough.

I'll check my windlace tonight, I have an original set on my car with a repo waiting to be put on, I have not checked to see if there was a diffence

Yep, I'm one of em. Collectors prize them for obvious reasons of being OEM.
I tossed mine in the trash. My brights are next.

Got some 5 3/4" H4 bulb assemblies off Ebay for $35.
They are probably 200% brighter. I'll be adding relays to double that as well.
