A Duramax in a 66 Jetfire on bags. I love it!

I've seen this car close up. It's a beast!! This company will put a Duramax in anything.

A guy down the road from me is doing that to a 71 Chevelle. Looking forward to seeing it!

66 Dynamic or Jetstar? Go for it. To each his (or her) own.

Was the hood modified to take all that engine height?

I’m a big fan of the ‘66’s, but who among us hasn’t at least pondered an LS, Tremec 6 speed or EV power train?

Here and there I wish my old 66 Big Cars shared more with their Chevy counterparts just so I could swap in better brakes & suspension without doing backflips.

No judgment from my corner.

Cheers
Chris

at least it’s not a belly-button LS swap.

chair, the dash plaque said "Jetfire", and yes, the hood had a huge bulge. Notice there isn't a pic of the hood.

Not originally it didn't. JetSTAR was the model name, though the original air cleaner might have said JetFIRE 330.

Personally I don't get the diesel swap motivation, but at least it's more interesting than an LS swap. I'm a fan of dare to be different.

I've considered this. The duramax is a beast and will get great fuel mileage..

I wonder if its hooked to the jetaway?

I have zero problems with it. Hell why not? Not like you are stripping a W car. Hell yes. Make that car fly.

Ha! I never know around here.

I threw it out there because there were a couple guys talking around the cat about how "it had to be out of a van with the 4L80 because the Allison would never fit in the tunnel"

Well it's a Duramax, but it is compression ignition. I guess an Oldsmobile diesel is never going to be a good candidate for a swap. Like others said, dare to be different.

Why did they assume the engine and trans had to come from the same vehicle?

Maybe we can graft the bodyshell to a Prius platform.

And this is a feature why, exactly? I mean, is diesel fuel not expensive enough that you have to blow it out the exhaust without even burning it? Wouldn't it be easier to just set fire to dollar bills?

I say no. If they were, they would know how ugly they are, would be embarrassed to be seen in public, and wouldn’t leave their garage.
