Will a '72 4 spoke steering wheel fit on a '67?

Will a '72 Cutlass 4 spoke steering wheel fit on my '67 Cutlass. My car is far from factory original so I am not really concerned with what should be on it.

I really like the 4 spoke steering wheels.

Yes, but...

The four spoke wheel was only used on the 1970-77 cars with the large diameter steering column. The hub will bolt to your small diameter column, but it will look funny because of the diameter mismatch. One option is to get the small diameter hub used on 67-68 GM cars with the three spoke woodgrain steering wheel. These hubs are common and are also available as repros and the four spoke wheel bolts right to it. The only issue is that the hub for the three spoke wheel has a notch where the third spoke overlaps the other two at the center of the wheel. This won't affect function but you can fill the notch with filler before mounting the wheel.

I have a wheel that I machined the hub down (required adding an aluminum biscuit bolted to the original hub) for a 66. It is just slightly smaller than a 67 so looks good. I got the sport wheel 35 years ago and it has been in storage almost all the time; I used it briefly on the Rund car a couple years ago. Interested?
