Why Can't I Find This Tubing???

I see this "corrugated" rubber line on a lot of 50s-60s stuff - this one in particular is for the vacuum operated wiper motor on my '55.

Has anyone ever found a source for this? I've scoured the web and find the 'ribbed' stuff like they use on the A-Body washer hoses, but not this style.

Suggestions?

Have you tried Restoration Specialties? They list a wire loom material up to 3/4" ID.

Ok then, if you did an internet search I would say its not available especially if its specific to an Olds. If Chevy used it you have a shot at repro stuff...

Yeah - not sure if it's specific to Olds...I don't see any listed in any of the

Gordon, is it in fact vacuum/ washer hose tubing or is it a protective cover like cloth wire loom? I'm not that well-versed on 50s cars but I have never seen any tubing like that.

Worst case buy some similar-appearing cloth wire loom and cover modern vacuum tubing with it. It's like the folks at Ames Pontiac say- "fit and function".

Ditto on not having ever seen anything like it (except on these cars) - It's definitely not a cover / coating.

At this point, my curiosity is driving my search. I'm guessing since this is running the vacuum wipers (off of the aux vacuum pump attached to the fuel pump) that the corrugation was intended as additional reinforcing to prevent the tube from collapsing under higher vacuum...but that's only a guess.
